BIO

Born and raised in the DMV, Kite graduated from Yale University in 2022, where he received a B.A. in English, cum laude with distinction. While at Yale, Kite’s work was critiqued and encouraged by Louise Glück, Donald Margulies, Christian Wiman, Anne Fadiman, and Karin Roffman. His senior thesis, The Shape of Life, was the first of its kind to investigate and compare the work of artist-poets Elizabeth Bishop and Terrance Hayes. For his work in the English department, Kite was awarded the Chauncey Brewster Tinker Prize for Outstanding Senior in the Major, and was named a Yale College Poet in 2022. His poetry can be read in Soft Punk Magazine, the Yale Literary Magazine, and Sugar House Review.

Since 2023, Kite has lived in New York, where he has developed new theater in workshops for The Eno River Players, TBD Theatricals, NYU’s Musical Theater Composition MFA program, and Patchworks NYC. His work can also be seen in “Zoomies,” a 20-minute short film shot and directed by Sally M. Rubin (over 100K views on YouTube) and “Floating Carousel,” a feature film by Best Dressed Films. Kite’s debut EP is slated to release in the fall of 2026, funded in part by the YoungArts Foundation. His third single, "Goth Girls on the Upper East Side," will be out in May of 2026, accompanied by a music video and a zine of collages and poems.

Since the end of 2024, Kite's been collaging several days a week, and sometimes on his face. He wears face collages when he performs his original music.
